Install Drikatruu Jelly

Same, same but different

jellybeans.jpgDrikatruu Jelly is a ‘template’ and behaves differently to all the WordPress ‘themes’ I know. How? Well, for one, after you switch it on, your site will not look like a blog. Promising? It will look pretty much like… this site, except without the content. You will actually be linked to this site, if you click on any of the links on your freshly uploaded website. Why? Because on this site you will find the instructions you need to customize your site so that it links to what you want it to link to and contains your content. Where the Drikatruu Jelly template is the same as standard WordPress themes is installation: you can follow the standard instructions for installing, selecting and using themes on the WordPress site. Clearer than anything I could ever hope to write. Ooops. Almost forgot: here you go.

How do you log into your admin panel from within Drikatruu Jelly?

jellybeans.jpgIf you are used to WordPress blogs, you will find the Drikatruu Jelly theme rather strange in the beginning. So many things seem missing: the calendar, the archives, the blog role, all the ‘meta’ stuff, like XFN, RSS, Comment RSS and links, the XHML verification link and a lot more. Relax. Trust me, when it comes to websites, less is more. And if you really, really want some of it back, you can put it back in - I’ll show you how a little later. First back to ‘how to log in?’ - two options: you can either use the ‘admin’ link in the menu bar on top or you can look for the link in the footer. I recommend you remove the one in the menu bar later - it is useless for your visitors and you can find the little link in the footer, right?
